Jefferies Appoints Gilles PĂ©lisson to Its Global Senior Advisory Board

NEW YORK, September 10, 2012 – Jefferies today announced that Gilles Pélisson has joined Jefferies’ Global Senior Advisory Board, becoming the seventh member of this distinguished group.

In a joint statement, Richard B. Handler, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Jefferies, and Brian P. Friedman, Chairman of Jefferies’ Executive Committee, commented: “We welcome Gilles to our Senior Advisory Board and look forward to working closely with him on several initiatives. His business experience across a wide range of industries combined with his extensive CEO and Board level relationships, particularly across the French industrial landscape, will be extremely valuable in helping us continue to build our European investment banking business.”

Mr. Gilles C. Pélisson is the former Chairman and CEO of Accor Group, the largest hotel group in Europe and the fourth largest hotel group in the world. Prior to Accor he spent three years as the CEO of Bouygues Telecom, the third largest French mobile operator, and previously five years as the CEO of Disneyland Paris Resort, the leading tourist destination in Europe. Mr. Pélisson also holds positions on numerous Boards of Directors including: Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company; Societe Bic S.A., a global leader in stationery products, lighters and shavers; Groupe TF1, a leading French broadcasting company; NH Hoteles, a leading hotel operator in Europe; and Lucien Barrière, a leading operator of gaming and hotel facilities in Europe. For the last six years, Mr. Pélisson has also been a member of the Executive Board of MEDEF, the French Employer’s Association and, since 2011 has served as Chairman of GPS, the French Employer’s Association of the Services Industry. Mr. Pélisson was awarded both the Légion d’Honneur and the Ordre National du Mérite, as a Chevalier, from the French Republic, one of the highest awards in France.

Mr. James D. Robinson III
Mr. James D. Robinson III is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of American Express Company (NYSE: AXP), the world's largest credit card issuer and member of the Dow 30, a role he held for 16 years. Lord Clive Hollick is the former Chief Executive Officer of United Business Media (LSE: UBM), a leading global media and information services business and the largest global newswire distributor, a role he held for 10 years. He is a Director of Diageo plc (LSE: DGE), the world's leading premium drinks business; and a Director of Honeywell International (NYSE: HON), a Fortune 100 technology and manufacturing company. Lord Hollick has been a member of the House of Lords since 1991, and he has served as advisor to several UK Labour Party leaders, including former Prime Minister Tony Blair. Mr. Michael Goldstein is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Toys R Us, Inc., the world's leading toy and children's products retailer, roles he held over seven years. He is currently a Director of Pacific Sunwear (NASD: PSUN), a retailer in action sports and fashion products, and currently serves as Chairman of Israel Discount Bank of New York Ltd., a middle market lender specializing in asset based financing. He is the former Lead Director of Medco Health Solutions, Inc., a leading pharmacy benefit manager and the nation's largest mail order pharmacy operator, and a former Director of Charming Shoppes, Inc., a leading multi-brand women’s specialty apparel retailer. Mr. Bernard Bourigeaud
Mr. Bourigeaud was the founder and for 16 years Chairman and CEO of Atos Origin (Euronext Paris: ATO), one of the largest IT services companies in the world. Prior to Atos Origin, he spent 11 years at Deloitte, Haskins and Sells, where he headed their Management Consulting Group. Mr. Bourigeaud holds positions on numerous boards, including CGI Inc. Mr. Dennis W. Archer
Mr. Archer is the former Mayor of the City of Detroit, a post he served for two consecutive 4 year terms. Following his term as Mayor, Mr. Archer was elected President of the American Bar Association. Mr. Archer is a member of the Board of Directors of Johnson Controls Inc. Sir David Reid is the very recently retired Chairman of Tesco, a role he served since 2004.
