Robert Stern is a Senior Vice President and Private Wealth Strategist for Wealth Management at Jefferies. In this role, he designs and implements custom wealth strategies aligned with the unique complexities of his ultra-high net worth and family office clients. Robert brings an invaluable legal and financial perspective to planning, critical in addressing the intricacies of trust and estate planning, executive compensation, concentrated stock holdings, business succession, and philanthropic strategy. Robert has more than 25 years of experience in estate, tax, and financial planning. Prior to Jefferies, Robert was an ultra-high net worth strategist at RBC Wealth Management, where he partnered with corporate executives, entrepreneurs, and multi‑generational families on tailored planning solutions. Prior to that, he served as a wealth strategist at J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where he advised clients on integrating investment, tax, and estate considerations into cohesive long‑term plans. Robert has also held positions with Fidelity Investments, New York Life Insurance, and UBS. He began his career as an attorney before shifting to financial services. Robert holds a Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®).

Simon Hay

About

Simon Hay is an Associate at Jefferies Private Wealth Management. He has worked in the financial services industry since graduating from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a minor in Economics. Simon is currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a CFA Level II candidate. Prior to joining Jefferies, Simon worked at Chicago based Hightower Advisors – one of the largest RIAs in the country – as a Portfolio Operations and Trading Analyst, where he traded equity SMA portfolios and executed active investment strategies across client accounts. His responsibilities included overseeing portfolio operations, ensuring accurate trade execution, and supporting portfolio management workflows, notably for their prominent Chief Investment Strategist, Stephanie Link. Simon began his career at TD Ameritrade as a financial services rep, gaining early client-facing and market‑focused experience. In his current role at Jefferies, Simon supports the Hall Team and their clients across portfolio management, trading, and day‑to‑day support. He assists with new account onboarding, performance and reporting inquiries, and ongoing operational needs. Simon brings a unique combination of analytical portfolio experience and a strong client‑service mindset, helping clients navigate their portfolios with clarity and confidence.

Alan is Head of Wealth Planning for Jefferies Wealth Management, where he leads a team of professionals providing comprehensive wealth planning solutions, specializing in tax planning, cash flow analysis and sophisticated estate planning strategies related to our clients’ wealth transition and growth.  He develops timely commentaries and white papers on emergent tax and estate policies as well as working directly with clients to model their financial picture and help guide their intra-generational decisions.  Prior to joining Jefferies, Alan served a Senior Vice President, Senior Wealth Planner at City National Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada and Executive Director, Director of Wealth Planning Services at Morgan Stanley.

Alan has more than 25 years of experience in wealth planning for high and ultra-high-net-worth clients, their businesses and families. His expertise extends to multiple areas of wealth planning including multigenerational wealth transfer, charitable giving/planning and other wealth replacement strategies.

Amanda Parness

More than 30 years of experience, focused on providing insights and solutions to clients with institutional wealth who are in a moment of evolution. As a former private equity investor, Amanda has deep familiarity with companies on the transaction path, and the founders and owners who experience significant liquidity events as a result. She also has particular expertise in working with women who are experiencing independent wealth for the first time. Highlights from her career include launching a management consulting firm focused on privately held companies and fund managers, and significant leadership tenure at GoldPoint Partners, New York Life Insurance Company’s $17bn+ private equity investment arm. Amanda holds a master’s in finance from Columbia Business School, a bachelor’s in economics and English literature from Barnard College, and her series 7 and 63 licenses.
