At Jefferies, it is hard to describe a typical day as each project and day is different and tailored to the client’s needs. Recently, I arrived early in the morning for a conference call with a company based in Asia. They were interested in hearing about our role in a recent successful deal and how we could advise them on a potential upcoming transaction. After the call, I spent the rest of the morning working on a valuation model for an on-going buy-side transaction. The asset was of interest to both energy companies and financial buyers, therefore we used a variety of methodologies to model each potential buyer’s likely valuation approach. Over lunch, we had a weekly team meeting where we discussed our current mandates and upcoming pitches. Later in the afternoon, I took some time to check my model before going to a client’s office for a management presentation. Once we got back to the office, I had dinner with the team, refined the management presentation for another client meeting the next day and then headed home.
One of the main reasons I chose to work at Jefferies is the mentoring environment. I was also excited to work for a growing firm that is continuously gaining recognition in the global marketplace. Since joining the Energy Group, I have enjoyed an increased level of responsibility. I have received great industry exposure, including significant client interaction. The most rewarding aspect of my job is being part of an industry-leading team and learning from highly talented and experienced professionals.
