Jefferies Receives 12 Awards in the 2011 Financial Times/StarMine 2011 Equity Research Analyst Awards
The Financial Times / StarMine Analyst Awards recognize the performance of individual analysts for both the return on their stock recommendations and the accuracy of their earnings estimates during calendar year 2010. Awards are given to the top 10 stock pickers and earnings estimators overall, and the top three stock pickers and earnings estimators in 69 industries.

Survey results reflect the opinions of more than 3,500 buy-side analysts and portfolio managers at over 1,000 institutions that manage some $10.7 trillion in U.S. equities, or roughly 80% of the $12.7 trillion market capitalization of the MSCI U.S. index at the time of polling.
Jefferies Ranked #2 in Conglomerate Equity Research and #14 Overall in 2011 Institutional Investor China Analyst Poll
To select the members of the broader All-China Research Team, Institutional Investor solicited the opinions of more than 1,670 investment professionals at 660 institutions managing an estimated $782 billion in Chinese equities. Rankings were determined using numerical scores. Votes awarded to each analyst were weighted based on the size of the institution responding and the place awarded to that analyst.

Jefferies Ranked #1 in Conglomerate Equity Research and #9 Overall in 2011 Institutional Investor China A-Share Analyst Poll
The 2011 China A-Share Research Team highlights the top firms and analysts according to money managers who participated in Institutional Investor's 2011 All-China Research Team and indicated that they invest in Chinese equities exclusively through A-shares. To compile the ranking, Institutional Investor tallied the results of ballots submitted by participants who said they invest only via A shares, then identified the top three analysts in each of the survey's 14 industry sectors and three macroeconomic disciplines.

Jefferies Receives Two Awards in The Wall Street Journal 2011 "Best on the Street" Analyst Awards
Analysts' skill in picking stocks was measured using recommendation-performance scores calculated by FactSet Research Systems on the basis of the estimated total return, including price changes and dividends, of each eligible stock an analyst covered in an industry.

Jefferies Ranked #1 U.S. Stock Picker in Financial Times / StarMine Research Analysis
Jefferies was ranked #1 in U.S. Stock Picking in the 2011 Financial Times / StarMine equity research analysis for the calendar year 2010. StarMine analyzes the performance of eligible brokers (defined as firms that cover at least 25% of the S&P 500 Index) over sets of stocks by measuring the returns of their buy and sell recommendations and by the accuracy of their earnings estimates. These scores are then aggregated to determine a final score for each broker.
