Jefferies Execution Services Inc. (JES) provides institutional clients agency-only electronic and/or floor-broker execution for listed as well as OTC stocks and all listed options. We have a significant presence on the Floor of the NYSE, and serve more than 150 clients, including hedge funds, other broker-dealers, money managers, and other institutions--many of which have been using our services for more than 20 years.

In addition to the NYSE, we maintain membership on the AMEX and other leading principal U.S. exchanges. Through cutting-edge technology and broad access to liquidity, our presence translates into customized solutions and rapid response to your needs, regardless of size or complexity.

Settlement
We do not settle trades; we facilitate settlement through your clearing firm, on either a correspondent or fully disclosed basis. We transfer settlement obligations the next-business-day (T+1), routing transactions through NSCC's Correspondent Clearing Services or the New York Stock Exchange Equity Step-Out Service.

For OTC trading, JES acts as a service bureau, providing connectivity to market makers and ECNs. OTC securities are delivered to your clearing firm via NSCC.

History
Jefferies Execution Services, a fixture on the floor of the NYSE, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Jefferies Group, Inc.

In 1980, Jefferies expanded into the high net worth market with the acquisition of Wagenseller & Durst, a Los Angeles—based retail brokerage and member of the NYSE since 1927. Reorganized as W&D Securities, the firm became a clearing business for research before evolving to provide high-quality NYSE execution and clearing services to other broker-dealers.

In 2001, Jefferies acquired Lawrence Helfant LLC, the largest independent execution-services provider on the NYSE. In 2002, Helfant and W&D merged to become Helfant Group, Inc., renamed Jefferies Execution Services in 2004.
