JEFFERIES ENHANCES GLOBAL RESEARCH COVERAGE
WITH ADDITION OF SENIOR INDUSTRIALS ANALYST

LONDON and NEW YORK, 4 March 2010 -- Jefferies announced today the hiring of Mike Betts as a Managing Director and Global Building Materials Equity Research Analyst. Mr. Betts has nearly twenty years of experience as an analyst covering global building materials companies and will be based in the firm's London office.

The hiring of Mr. Betts extends Jefferies' established coverage of the Industrials sector, which now consists of 13 senior equity and leveraged finance analysts. These include equity research analysts Howard Rubel (Aerospace & Defense), Laurence Alexander, CFA (Chemicals, Industrial Technology), Yvonne Varano (US Diversified Industrials, Steel), John Dean (European Diversified Industrials), Stephen Volkmann, CFA (Diversified Industrials, Machinery), Alexander Barnett, CFA (European Industrials) and Michael Dudas, CFA (Metals & Mining, Coal, Engineering & Construction).

Previously, he was a European Building Analyst at Goldman Sachs. He received a PhD from the University of Reading and is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
