JEFFERIES EXPANDS LATIN AMERICAN EQUITY TRADING PLATFORM

Industry Veteran Gary Hill Leads Latin American Cash Equity Trading

NEW YORK and LONDON, February 3, 2010 – Jefferies today announced the appointment of Gary Hill as a Managing Director and Senior International Equity Trader. He is responsible for Latin American Cash Equity Trading, developing both the ADR business and local market execution. Mr. Hill has more than 17 years of industry experience, including seven years at Deutsche Bank, where he was most recently North American Head of Emerging Markets Cash Equity Trading.

Before Deutsche Bank, Mr. Hill was a Director and Senior Trader for Developed Europe and Emerging Markets at ING Barings, where he spent six years. Previously, he worked in equity trading at Bear Stearns. He received a BS from the State University of New York at Albany.
