JEFFERIES EXPANDS GLOBAL MBS/ABS PLATFORM

Sharif Anbar-Colas Joins In London To Head CLO/CDO Trading

LONDON and NEW YORK, 3 February 2010 - Jefferies today announced the appointment of Sharif Anbar-Colas as a Managing Director and Global Head of Collaterized Loan Obligation (CLO) and Collaterized Debt Obligation (CDO) Trading.

Mr. Anbar-Colas will be responsible for all CLO/CDO trading within the firm's broader Mortgage- and Asset-Backed Securities (MBS/ABS) Group, part of the Fixed Income Division at Jefferies. The firm's MBS/ABS group now includes approximately 85 sales, trading and origination professionals in the US, London, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

Jefferies' broader fixed income business now has more than 450 professionals globally who are focused on the sales and trading of investment grade corporate bonds, high yield bonds, government and agency securities, repo finance, mortgage- and asset-backed securities, municipal bonds, whole loans, leveraged loans, distressed securities and emerging markets debt.

Mr. Anbar-Colas joins Jefferies from Cohen & Company, where he was a Managing Director and Head of European ABS and Global CLO Trading. Previously, he worked at UBS, where he was Executive Director and Head of Global CDO Trading. Prior to that, he worked at Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers in a variety of Sales and Trading positions. He received a BS in Finance and International Business from Georgetown University.
