JEFFERIES ADDS SENIOR INVESTMENT BANKER TO GROWING CONSUMER AND RETAIL EFFORT

Steve Tricarico To Focus On Retail And Apparel

NEW YORK, December 10, 2007 -- Jefferies & Company, Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group, Inc. (NYSE: JEF), today announced the hiring of Steven J. Tricarico as a Managing Director to focus on retail and apparel clients in the Firm’s Consumer & Retail Investment Banking group. Mr. Tricarico has over 15 years of investment banking experience, most recently as a Managing Director in the consumer and retail group at Wachovia Securities.

Mr. Tricarico joins an established team of more than 20 investment banking professionals, led by Managing Director, James P. Walsh. The team also includes Managing Directors Grant D. Rice, focused on food and beverage, John B. Tibe, food service and food retail, and Kenneth A. Wasik, consumer products and apparel.

As an investment banker, Mr. Tricarico has worked on a broad range of strategic and capital markets transactions for both public and private retail and apparel companies, including M&A advisory, equity, and debt issuances. He had advised on assignments for companies including Aeropostale, Charlotte Russe, Charming Shoppes, Cititrends, HH Gregg, J Crew, Mens Wearhouse, Movie Gallery, New York & Co, Tuesday Morning, Sheplers and Zumiez. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business and a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia, McIntire School of Commerce.
