JEFFERIES ENHANCES PRIVATE CLIENT SERVICES PRESENCE IN ATLANTA

NEW YORK, November 26, 2007 -- Jefferies & Company, Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group, Inc. (NYSE: JEF), today announced the hiring of Jack Carvalho and S. Whit Yates as Managing Directors in the Firm’s Private Client Services (PCS) Group. Messrs. Carvalho and Yates will be based in the Firm’s Atlanta office and will be instrumental in building the Firm’s regional client base.

Messrs. Carvalho and Yates worked together previously at Credit Suisse, both as directors covering the Southeastern US, with a client base of many high profile executives and wealthy families.

Mr. Carvalho has extensive experience serving high net-worth individuals, corporations and institutional investors. He began his financial services career with J.C. Bradford & Company in Birmingham, Alabama as an account executive. Mr. Carvalho is a member of the American Economics Institute, Southern Center for International Studies, and "Who’s Who in Finance and Industry.” He holds a BA from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from the University of Alabama.

Mr. Yates has particular expertise in advising wealthy families and executives on diversification strategies following a wealth event, as well as derivative hedging strategies, restricted stock sales and asset allocation with a particular focus on the alternative asset class. He began his career at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. He holds a BA in philosophy and MBA from University of Georgia and did post graduate work in philosophy at Oxford University in England.
