JEFFERIES ADDS SENIOR TECHNOLOGY ANALYST IN LONDON

Lee Simpson To Cover Hardware Companies


LONDON and NEW YORK, 12 September 2007 -- Jefferies International Limited, the UK subsidiary of US-based Jefferies Group, Inc. (NYSE: JEF), today announced the hiring of Lee J. Simpson as a Senior Equity Research Analyst covering technology hardware companies in the UK and in Europe. Mr. Simpson will be located in the Firm’s London office, where Jefferies has nearly 300 investment banking, sales, trading & research and asset management professionals.

Mr. Simpson has a decade of experience in Technology, including nearly eight years as a sell-side research analyst. With his addition, the Firm’s technology equity research team now consists of 16 senior analysts in the US, Europe and Japan covering all of the major tech industries including communications equipment, electronics manufacturing services and electronics supply chain, applications and infrastructure software, IT services, homeland security, Internet & digital media and semiconductors.

In addition to this dedicated research effort, Jefferies’ broader focus on the technology, media and telecommunications sectors includes 5 securities traders and approximately 130 investment banking professionals, bringing to bear on the sector resources from all of the Firm’s major offerings.

He was a member of the top-rated Telecoms research team with Goldman Sachs in London. He began his career at Deutsche Telekom and also worked as a Telecoms consultant at Price Waterhouse Coopers. He has a degree in Mathematics from Edinburgh University, a Masters in Operational Research from Strathclyde University and a Masters in Finance from London Business School.
