JEFFERIES ENHANCES LEADING INSTITUTIONAL EQUITY SALES PLATFORM

NEW YORK, May 9, 2007 -- Jefferies & Company, Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group, Inc. (NYSE: JEF), today announced the hiring of Leon C. (“Tres”) Green III and Stephen M. Sibilia, who join as Senior Vice Presidents and Sales Traders in the Firm’s Equity Department. Mr. Green, formerly of Banc of America Securities, and Mr. Sibilia, formerly of Sanford Bernstein and Goldman Sachs, each have more than a decade of institutional equity sales experience.

Messrs. Green and Sibilia join nearly 200 US institutional equity sales professionals — one of the largest institutional sales forces on Wall Street, covering more than 2,200 institutions globally. The firm’s broader equity platform includes an award-winning research effort with more than 120 professionals covering over 850 companies globally. The Firm also has a growing presence as an equity underwriter, helping clients raise more than $18 billion in 2006.

Prior to Jefferies, Mr. Green was an Account Executive at Banc of America Securities, LLC, where he worked for nearly 10 years. He began his career in equity sales at Montgomery Securities. Mr. Green earned a BS from University of Texas.

Previously, Mr. Sibilia was an Account Executive at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co., LLC, since 2003. He also held sales trading positions at Goldman Sachs & Co. and Spear, Leeds & Kellogg, LP. Mr. Sibilia has a BS degree in Finance from Baruch College.

Messrs. Green and Sibilia will be based in the Firm’s New York headquarters.
