NEW YORK, March 19, 2007 -- Jefferies & Company, Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group, Inc. (NYSE: JEF), today announced the hiring of Thomas E. Labenz, who will serve as Head of Equities Technology Trading. Mr. Labenz brings more than twelve years of trading experience to the Firm’s platform, including four years with Hambrecht & Quist and, most recently, four years as Director of NASDAQ Trading at First Albany. He will lead a team of six dedicated technology traders who make markets in over 500 technology stocks, and will be based in the Firm’s New York Headquarters.

Mr. LaBenz has twelve years of sales, trading and market making experience, with more than 8 years focused on technology. Prior to Jefferies, he was Director of NASDAQ Trading at First Albany for four years. Previously he was Senior Market Maker and Senior Technology Trader in the NASDAQ trading department at Hambrecht & Quist, now part of JP Morgan Chase & Co., where he worked for four years. Mr. Labenz began his career in the sales and trading division of Olde Discount Corporation. He earned a BS from Pennsylvania State University, where he majored in Economics and Finance.
