NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 17, 2006--Jefferies & Company, Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group, Inc. (NYSE: JEF), today announced the hiring of William H. Choi, CFA as a Managing Director and Senior Equity Research Analyst covering communications equipment companies.

Mr. Choi will work with Managing Director and Senior Research Analyst George C. Notter to expand Jefferies' already extensive coverage of the dynamic U.S. communications equipment industry, including the areas of wireline, wireless, cable, enterprise and test. His hiring further extends Jefferies' established coverage of the technology sector, which now consists of thirteen senior equity analysts covering more than 150 companies in the U.S. and Europe. With the addition of Mr. Choi, Jefferies now covers the following technology industries: communications equipment, electronics manufacturing services, infrastructure & enterprise applications software, Internet & new media, government & commercial IT services, homeland security, healthcare IT services, and semiconductors. Mr. Choi has covered the communications equipment industry for more than 10 years. Prior to joining Jefferies, he was a senior equity research analyst at Kaufman Brothers, Merrill Lynch and PaineWebber. Mr. Choi graduated with honors from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
