FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Jefferies Hires Emerging Markets Team in Bonds Direct Division; Erich Bauer-Rowe to Lead Experienced Trio in Continued Expansion of Fixed Income Effort NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 5, 2006--Jefferies & Company, Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group, Inc. (NYSE: JEF), today announced the hiring of a team of three fixed income professionals in the firm's Bonds Direct Division. The trio further enhances Jefferies' presence in fixed income by adding expertise in emerging markets to the firm's fast-growing effort. Joining as Managing Directors, F. Erich Bauer-Rowe will head the group, while Charles B. Cortellesi will lead the sales effort that also includes Miguel A. Santiago. Messrs. Bauer-Rowe, Cortellesi and Santiago most recently worked together at Wachovia Securities, and are each 20-year veterans of emerging markets sales and trading, with combined significant experience at Lehman Brothers, ABN Amro and Prudential Securities, among other firms. The team will be based in Jefferies' New York headquarters office.
