Jefferies Adds Senior High Yield Sales Professional; Howard Fife Joins Veteran Team

NEW YORK, Apr 1, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Jefferies & Company, Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group, Inc. (NYSE: JEF), today announced the hiring of Howard B. Fife, Senior Vice President, High Yield Sales. Mr. Fife will report to David W. Schwartz, Director of High Yield Sales and Trading, and will be based in the firm's Stamford, Connecticut office.

Prior to joining Jefferies, Mr. Fife had been a Director of Lazard Freres & Company, where he most recently helped to launch the Lazard Debt Recovery Fund. Previously at Lazard, Mr. Fife was Sales Manager of the High Yield and Distressed Sales and Trading team. Before joining that firm in 1994, he held sales positions in high yield and fixed income at Prudential Securities and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.
