Jefferies

Social Responsibility

With an expanding global network of more than 30 offices worldwide, contributing to society and promoting a diverse work force is important to us.

Together with the help of clients and vendors, our firm and its employees have contributed nearly $30 million in donations from charitable trading days toward the relief efforts in response to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks; the December 2004 Asian tsunami; Hurricane Katrina, which struck New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast on August 29, 2005; the January 2010 earthquake in Haiti; the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan; and in 2012, Hurricane Sandy, which affected communities in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Separate from these disaster-related trading days, to date, Jefferies has also helped raise more than $5 million for cancer research, and our educational grant program supports the education of the children of Jefferies employees and has granted more than 900 scholarship awards valued at nearly $8 million. In addition, the firm has an established employee contribution matching program, which benefits a wide range of important causes.

At Jefferies, we believe that every employee is one-of-a-kind, with a unique perspective and outlook. We seek to enrich our firm by recruiting individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds with wide-ranging experience and academic achievement from all over the world. As a result, we are able to pool our collective insights and intelligence to provide fresh and innovative thinking for our clients.
