NEW YORK, August 31, 2011 – Jefferies announced today the addition of Christopher Burns as a Managing Director in the firm’s Leveraged Finance Investment Banking Group. He will be based in the firm’s New York office.
“Our Leveraged Finance business continues to rapidly expand, as evidenced by the fact that Jefferies has bookrun 118 leveraged finance transactions in the last 12 months, including 53 leveraged loans and 65 high yield bond offerings,” commented Benjamin D. Mr. Burns brings to Jefferies more than 15 years of experience, and joins the firm from Goldman Sachs, where he spent the last nine years, including seven years in Leveraged Finance investment banking, most recently as Co-Head of Industrials Leveraged Finance. Previously, he worked in Mergers & Acquisitions investment banking at Merrill Lynch, and prior to that, was a Senior Underwriter in Structured Finance at Fleet Boston Financial. He received his MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern and his BA from Franklin & Marshall College.
